ABOUT THE 2026 SERIES
OVERALL SERIES RANKING
At each Race in the Series, Series ranking points are awarded to the top 300 M/F runners.
A runner’s best three results count towards their Overall Series standing at the end of the season.
New for 2026, the Mourne Skyline® will be the Series Finals race. If you want to rank higher in the final Overall Series standing, you must finish this race, which will also decide any Series point-ties. At the end of the Series, a runner’s best three races count to their Overall Series standing with those finishing Mourne Skyline ranking above those who omit this race.
+50% bonus Overall Series, SkyUltra Series & Masters Series’ points are also on offer for the top 300 M/F finishers at the 2026 Series Championships — the host race of which changes annually.
PRIZE POOL
The Overall Series prize pool for the top 3 M/F runners for 2026 is as follows:
M/F 1st — £500, M/F 2nd — £250, M/F 3rd — £125.
In addition, the top 3 M/F Overall Series champions will be invited to the end of season SkyMasters race; the Finals of the Skyrunner® World Series where a huge prize purse is up for grabs!
The Skyrunner® UK & Ireland Series exists to celebrate and push the boundaries of Skyrunning as a sporting discipline. We want the series to really stand in the modern sporting world, showcasing its values of Technicality, Equality, Determination and Focus.
In creating a series we know that the saying is true – the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Each race is exciting and inspiring in itself, but together they create a new concept – a collection of races that keeps both runners and audiences engaged throughout the season.
ABOUT THE UK RACES
Each race in the series has been chosen to highlight the most iconic locations in the UK as well as to showcase the awe and natural beauty of each of our most spectacular mountain regions.
All have been selected based on their scenery, challenge, historical and cultural significance and that extra ‘wow’ factor that they will offer both to the running athletes and the public.
We want these races to be on every runner’s bucket list.
